Looking for any clues on my great grandparents.Victoria De Bille born March 23, 1900 in Brussels. Parents were Joseph De Bille and Ferdenande Augustine Mayer. Both listed as being born in belgium. Two sisters Julliette born 1902 and Louise born 1904. Juliette, Victoria and father Joseph left for Canada about 1908. Mother Ferdenande and Louise stayed behind because the mother was pregnant. She went on to have a boy and they were to of both died in the war. Contact with Louise was lost. It is possible Joseph never Belgium and the mother died on the ship over. On the back of one of Victoria's picture of her oldest child it had in memory of Denis or Denio Dervil.
Victoria's husband was Louis Bodechon born in October 21, 1895 somewhere in Belgium. His parents were Louis Bodechon, born in France and Josephine Petrie born in Belgium. My great grandfather Louis had a brother Gustav who also came to Canada. The story I was told the youngest Louis, my greatgrandfather was fleeing the law and left a wife and six kids around 1920. Possible names of four of the kids were Louie, Gus, Mary and Louise. Louie settled in Nova Scotia with his brother Gustav where he met my greatgrandmother, who was already married to Ernest Meyer from Germany. Victoria and Louis married in Thorbrun, Nova Scotia, Canada on October 24, 1923. They then settled in Minto, New Brunswick, Canada. Louis worked in the coal mines until he died on March 15, 1967. Victoria died in Minto on November 22, 1976. My grandmother Amelia remembers her father receiving letters from his kids while living in Minto.
I have pictures of Louis and his brother Gustav. They were both tall and slim build. Louis had darker features than Gustav. Louis and Victoria spoke mostly French and only learned English when they came to canada. Where would I send for a request of Victoria's birth certificate? Her sister Julitte travelled back to Belgium before her death and her family thinks it may of been in dutch. Victoria and Juliette both lived close to the statue of the little boy peeing. As kids they use to play close by. Any leads or advice as to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
