I was surprised when I read your article about the end of Lent and
annual Belgian club Smear game. I was born and raised in the Upper
Penninsula of Mich. and although I was born and raised in a Belgian
community, I never realized that Smear was a "Belgian game" We all
learned to play Smear by the time we were 10 years old and many a winter
night were spent gathered with neighbors and friends to play Smear.
Thanks for sharing the article. It brought back many
cherished memores. Mary
