What kind of resources are available for lookups in SC? I have two
BELLs in Wayne County, KY, who were born in SC:

Francis Bell b. 1771
William R. Bell b. ca 1801

We have not been able to document a relationship between the two, but I
think William may be the nephew of Francis. Francis has been identified
as the son of Linzey (Lindsey) Bell of Randolph Co, NC.

I have been knocking my head against a brick wall to find any kind of
birth records for these two Bells. And has anyone identified any Bells
who were Revolutionary War veterans who fought in SC? Is there a
scarcity of records because of Sherman's march?
