Hey if we are going to plug our spouse's books on here I'm going to say that
my wife's latest book "The Pedant's Return" has just come out... ready for
xmas...
no sorry I didn't realize they were your husband's. I guess you have more
than enough copies already :)
If anyone has missed my piece on Elizabeth Charlotte Benjafield (nee
Belfield) you can find it here:

Regards,
Andy

Thanks for all the information on Ebay, folks.
I guess Andy doesn't know that I am a librarian (why would he?) and work
with ABEbooks all the time --- for interlibrary loans reference.
And yes, many of the books on ABEbooks are my John's. He has just published
this month another one for Oxford University Press.
Now a really interesting site for browsing Benjafield is www.amazon.com Type
in benjafield in the search term.... you get over 100 references to
Benjafield's (not just by author, as in John Benjafield, or Robert
Benjafield) but when Benjafield is mentioned within a text...... for
instance, Bob Benjafield's Grandfather, J. Dudley, is mentioned in many of
the Bentley books, my John is mentioned in books on Cognition or Psychology,
a lawyer from Australia named Benjafield has many text books.
For anyone really digging up history, this is invaluable..... one of two of
these on George IV (The 'Prince of Pleasure') or Maria Fitzherbert have led
me to many many interlibrary loans of materials from the bibliographies of
these in-print items. Older out of print items then have equally interesting
bibliographies.... and on it goes...
Cheers all Gail B in St. C.

Gail,
If you are interested in the book simply because it was written by a
Benjafield then try www.Abebooks.com . There are at least 4 books here by
Benjafield authors- some for under £10. All these are with reputable
bookstores and you don't have to get involved in Ebay or PayPal that way (if
they scare you).
There is one copy of "The Bentley at Le Mans" book here and is being sold
for £475!!!
Here is the Benjafield search link for abebooks:
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?bx=off&ds=30&bi=0&an=benjafiel
d&y=20&bsi=0&sortby=2&x=43&prevpage=4
Good luck and happy bidding/buying!
Andy Barham
Ps I always make my bids on ebay with about 8 seconds to go (so NO-ONE can
outbid me) but then I've got fast broadband and nerves of steel (well jelly
really...)

I would love to know how to do this, but have never used EBAY and am most
reluctant to do so.... so much spam, so little time....
I know EBAY is hugely legit, but if you could give me a detail or two (as to
what the mnemonics mean?), I might entertain a bid.
Best, as always, Gail
