I've never been able to find birth details for my g-granddfather William John Bennett born about 1875 at Mile End Old Town or Stepney (differs in censuses). I've checked all I can find on GRO but wrong father's name. His father (on marriage cert) is also given as William John Bennett, a general dealer.
 
I also cannot identify him or his father in the 1881 census and therefore don't know his mother's name. By 1891 he is in the navy.
 
Any help greatly appreciated ! I've been trying to solve this one for years.
