Steve,
We will have to continue to agree to disagree about Johann George Binkley being in Orange Co., IN, as I still have not seen the proof of that. [Hope that I don't appear argumentative; I just don't see it.] There are only three records that I can clearly identify as being Johann George: the Moravian record of his birth, his marriage record, and an entry in the family Bible of his nephew Joseph Shackleford Binkley. The children of his wife Nelly are mentioned in the will of his father-in-law; but they are not named, and their location is not mentioned. A George Binkley signed a petition in MO Territory in 1811, but he cannot be identified. A Henry Binkley also signed the petition, but again he cannot be identified. Joseph S. Binkley's family Bible does state that J. George had brothers Abraham and Henry who went to MO. I have heard of no other records in MO that could belong to Abraham and Henry; they just disappeared on the frontier. It would not surprise me if that!
is what happened to George.
Johannes Binkley came to Robertson Co., TN, from NC in late 1799 as documented by the journal of two Moravian missionaries. I used to believe that Jacobina died before the move, but I now question that because of the document below:
Robertson County Court Minutes, Book 1, p. 66

The above Inventory Amt of Sale was delivered into court at April Term 1801.
Notice that there is a note due from a Mrs. Pinkley. Given the status of women at that time, Mrs. Pinkley must have been a widow. Jacobina is the only Binkley/Pinkley widow that I am aware of in the area in 1801. My guess is that she borrowed money from her husband's estate after his death. Unfortunately I have found no record of a widow's provision for her; so, I can only guess that she is the Mrs. Pinkley mentioned. In any case, I have changed her date of death in my database from before 1799 to after 1801.
I would be absolutely thrilled to find any more definitive information about Henry, Abraham, and George Binkley.
