Subject: [BIRD-L] William (?) BIRD/BYRD, supp. Loyalist from Scotland, captured at Battle Cowpens

So little information on my BYRD/BIRD line.

Family tradition claims this man was from Scotland, a Loyalist who was
captured at the above battle. He mar. possibly in VA or PA and had a dau.
Elizabeth, that mar. ca. 1808, Robert CRISWELL/ CRESWELL b. ca. 1780-90,
possibly Cumberland Co., PA. They resided Perry Co., OH where Eliz. d. 1823.
Robert & Eliz. (BYRD/BIRD) CRISWELL had the following children: Margaret b.
ca. 1801, mar. 12 Nov. 1829, Adam Skinner, Perry Co., OH; John, d. 26 April
1858; William; Joseph mar. 7 Dec. 1841, Anna Carr, Hamilton Co., IN; James
mar. Rebecca Skinner [Served in Mexican War, 1848]; Jane mar. Elijah Skinner;
Alexander mar. 22 March 1834, Sarah Spencer, Perry Co., OH; Mary b. 30 Dec.
1822, Perry Co., OH., d. 2 Aug. 1891, Decatur Co., IA., mar. 26 Aug. 1841,
Ebenezer W. Fierce, Hamillton Co.,
IN [my maternal gr. gr. gr. grandparents] and Robert, d. 13 April 1847, killed
in Spanish Amer. War at Buena Vista.
