Subject: [BIRD-L] Sir William Bird of Denston, Suffolk and of London

Hi Listers,
I am seeking information about Sir William Bird, described as being of
Denston, Suffolk and of London. He was evidently a very prominent attorney
in the early 1600's (fl. about 1620, judging from most of the available
records at my local genealogy library). He may be the same William Bird
married to Frances Maynard (widow of Walter Roberts of Kent), or he might
be one generation earlier or later.
Is there anyone who has information on his birth or death dates, his
children, or his will? I'd also be interested in learning about his life,
if there are any biographies or biographical sketches about him.
He is described in some sources as "Dean of the Arches" in 1619, and
appears to be connected with Canterbury as well (in a legal, not a
canonical sense). He was granted a coat of arms in 1606 "by Camden". In
1622, a will that he probated calls him the "venerable father".
Thanks for any help.
