Ann meant to send this to the list, but pushed the wrong buttons, so I'm
forwarding it on to you all.

Hi, Cousins!

My grandfather, George Cameron Bisset (born in Carnoustie, Scotland in
1899
and died 1964 in NY), was a gardener on an estate (however, don't get me
started on his missed opportunities as an engineer at Sikorski, management
at Spaulding, professional golfer here in the US, trainer at GM & Eastern
Airlines as a skilled machinist - he just didn't stick with any of those,
and ended up a gardner on an estate called Bumblebee Farm in Mt. Kisco,
New
York). He hated being inside.

Anyway, he was president of the Northern Westchester Horticultural
Society.
I was once told he won first prize for his onions. My parents are also
telling me all sorts of things to tell you guys. Grampa also was in the
"air force" during WWI in Scotland and worked on dirigibles (he told me he
fell out of one). And then he was the president of the local soccer
league
(in NY). And then he started a choral group for a one night stand called
"A Night in Scotland" that ended up lasting 8 years. THEN Lord Malcolm
Douglas Hamilton and his wife, Lady Natalie Hamilton became patrons and
the
group's name was changed to "The Lord Hamilton Singers". Dad remembers
going to Lord & Lady Hamilton's apartment on Fifth Avenue in New York City
once, so they must have either lived here or just visited. But he says
they
came to every performance. I can remember the choral group - I was a
young
girl and there was another young girl (her parents also sang in it, and it
was where our family and her family met and became best friends, parents
included). This is turning into a story of "Here's Your Life" or
something
like that. This all happened in the 50's and 60's.

I don't know what Grampa's father Peter did, but I do know that Peter's
father Robert was a fisherman in East Haven, Scotland and probably fished
for lobsters and crabs.

It's time to stop boring y'all. Bye...Anne>
