Hello Janet, Donald, Tom, Ron,
Pardon, please, my putting a combination of replies together, but like the
Egyptian mummy, I've been pressed for time (lately) and need to catch up in
one note.
Janet, I remain convinced of a connection somewhere in our Wishaw/Motherwell
family history, but can't find anything definitive. I spoke with Tom MacNeill
on Monday and asked if he had learned any more about your family history
(which I mailed him several months ago). He says he has some additional
information about Mungo Bisset which he will pass along. It should be of
interest you and Rod in Australia. I'll post it as soon as it comes.
Donald, I cannot give you any further information about the books "Bisset of
Lessendrum" and "Charters of the Priory of Beauly". My brother gave me those
addresses and I simply passed them along to the group. Peter Manuel has not
been able to learn any more about them either. I believe they are still in
print. Our son will be visiting Beauly in a couple of weeks. If he finds
either or both, do you want him to purchase a copy which I can then send to
you?
Tom, It's nice to know you live nearby. Thanks for the note and information.
I just learned that my father's maternal great grandmother was born in France.
Not part of the Bisset family, of course, but possibly of interest to someone
with a French/Bisset(t) heritage.
Ron, looking forward to getting the CD. Does everyone know that Edmonton Ron
is considered one of Canada's best jaw harpists?
I've probably overdone it here, but at least that takes care of things for the
moment.
Regards,
Tom Bisset
Baltimore, where we are enjoying gorgeous, cool, late summer weather.
