I keep getting a message that this is not going
through. This is the 3rd time I'm sending it out. I
hope it gets ok.

Hi, Listers:

Well, one of your cousins-by-marriage-to-a-Bisset had a
quintuple bypass operation on June 11. Dad had severe
chest pains on June 7, went to the hospital, and after
some tests decided to get a bypass, which turned into
5. So far he's doing fine, came home on June 16 and had
his staples (200+) removed yesterday. I guess they use
staples now instead of stitches.

We had several other kicks in the teeth.
1. My mother's aunt (married to my Pirie great-uncle
Douglas, and living in Aberdeen, Scotland) died after a
long illness.

2. And when we called my Dad's good friend Harry, who
now lives in New York but who came from Scotland around
1958) to tell him about Dad, he told us he had throat
cancer. And Harry lost a 2 year old grand-daughter to a
brain tumor in May.

3. Also this year my mother's Bisset Cousin Marge's
husband had treatment for prostate cancer.

4. My own mother, Avie Bisset, had radiation because
her cancer came back, but just had her 4 month checkup
and no cancer).

5. Our neighbor's father has EVERYTHING wrong with him
(diabetes, broken hip, cancer, heart problems to name a
few things wrong with him) and I guess it's merely a
matter of time. This same neighbor's house burned down
last November. Her husband's last name is Greenough and
that name is from Scotland.

6. An ex-co-worker's mother and father died within 2
weeks of each other, and another co-worker's mother died
unexpectedly (she ordered an autopsy because it was so
unexpected).

7. A good friend of my father's died of prostate cancer
because he refused any treatment. We dont' know why he
refused treatment.

8. I had a viral infection that resulted not in
anything dangerous, just an annoying, lingering cough
that I think I've finally gotten rid of.

9. Now we are into the hurricane season, and North
Carolina has had her share of those in the past 4
years. I fully expect to get hit again, which means off
to the North Carolina mountains.

10. After August, I'm not sure I'll have a job.

And how has your year been so far????
