Hi List,
Out of the blue several weeks ago came an e-mail from Betty Cosgrove, a
member of ANEFHS. She told me that she had an "ancient" family tree of
BISSETs in the Inverurie area, and asked if I might be interested. Of
course, I was, and we exchanged several e-mails. Betty kindly sent me the
tree, and there was my GGF's line, confirming my research back as far as
the beginning of the 19th century. For the most part, the tree data on
that line agrees with my research, save a few different dates which I must
check. Since my data that early came from "suppositions" from LDS and
other records, I have always held it as tentative and subject to
correction. To my delight, the tree showed several earlier generations
through William BISSET and Margaret LAMB to "2nd Son of Lessendrum BISSET
in Mill of Methlie."
According to Betty's note: "This tree has been lovingly hand made by some
long gone BISSET. The original was on a piece of foolscap accounting
paper." Betty added some of her findings as she pursued her own research.
If there are any other Lessendrum BISSET descendents on the list, I'm happy
to share all of this data with you.
Regards, Joe
