Hello Edge,

I have Bisset connections in South Africa too. My Great Great Grandfather
was Alexander Bisset born 18 Feb 1787 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland died 15
September 1857 Edinburgh, Scotland. He was a Contractor / Master Plasterer.

His son John Greig Bisset, a Master Mariner (a lot of Bisset people were
Mariners or seafaring) and later Wharfinger, and finally a Railway Station
Master in New South Wales. One of John's Great Grandchildren, also John
Greig Bisset was born in NSW in 1916, and after WW2 emigrated to South
Africa where he married (a second time) and had a family. He left South
Africa and died in 1992, but his family are still in Cape Town.

Regards,

Ian Wright
Sydney NSW
