I use this format:
Husband Murphy-A, where Alice Murphy's husband's forename is not known,
Wife Evans-D, where Dai Evan's wife's forename is not known,
Son1 Evans-D, Son2 Evans-D, Daughter Husband-Murphy-A, and so on.
I considered replacing the initial with the full forename, eg Murphy-Alice,
but felt it could get too long.
In Word Search, alphabetical, I use Husband OR Wife, Son OR Daughter in the
Name box(es)(pity it only allows alternatives instead of four choices!).
The method suits my small database(1500+).
By the way, I cover nicknames thus: Mary (Molly) O' Meara, Michael Edward
(Mike,Eddie) Buckley.
In Word Search, ( in the first Name box allows a list of all who have
nicknames.
Frank.
