thanks for answering, Camille. I don't know where you live, but I live in Valpo! If you live somewhere else, I could do a look-up here for you if you are researching your Blackburns. As far as a family connection, do you have any info on a generation or 2 back from William Harrison Blackburn? Have you ever heard of any connection to Dean families? My g-g grandfather, Ransom Dean, whose mother was supposedly, Helen Blackburn, moved to valparaiso from Marshall County to raise his family -maybe around 1870-don't have exact year in front of me. We can't find his parents anywhere- I guess his mother died when he was very young, and he was raised by Samuel & nancy washburn- they were childless and I think maybe ransom was a 'farmed-out" apprentice to learn samuel's trade and live with them. can't find answers.
