Okay, how about this James Blackmon? Can you place him? Found him in Crenshaw co. Alabama censuses. Believe his wife Vashti is probably M.E.S. Vashti Martin b. 1845 AL to John C. Martin and Anna Lou Spradley. If its her, her brother Niel probably married a Martha Blackmon.
But, first, can you place this James Blackmon?
1870 Crenshaw Co. AL census
184 BLACKMON James 29 wm AL
" Vasta 24 wf AL
" Anna 1 wf AL

James Blackmon age 38 in the 1880 Crenshaw Co. AL census. His wife is listed as Vashti age 32 and their children are:
Annie dau 11
William son 9
Mary dau 7
Levi son 5
Ida dau 2

This Annie Blackmon above would be my great grandmother, who married, I believe, her cousin Melvin Berry Martin in 1890 Crenshaw Co. AL. I also believe we have found William's and Levi's burial sites in Covington Co. AL Florala area at Cool Springs Cem. According to family stories, Annie died abt 1899 and is buried in Florala, Opp area but can't find her.
