Bravo, I knew Eual Jr would have the story on the Revolutionary
Blancetts!

I can only add that the Micajah / Michaja Blanchard that he mentions
was probably not a relative. Pat Holloway and Jolie Blanchard Brown
have done a lot of research on that line of North Carolina Blanchards
trying to figure out if they are related. One Micajah Blanchard was
born sometime between 1733 and died after leaving a will dated Oct
1764. If he died before the Revolution, then the soldier was his son
Micajah b between 1760 and 1764, who died about 1798. These guys
trace back to a Robert Blanchard b early 1600s who lived in Nansemond
County, Virginia, so Pat and Jolie have concluded they are a
different family altogether.
