All of you are right -- a typo. Yes, Robert Eaton Acock, Sr married
Mary Blanchett in Bute/Warren Co, NC.
Robert Eaton Acock appeared in the Bute Co PPTL in 1766, 1771, and
1784 (near Thomas Blanchet)
He began appearing in the PPTL for Christian Co (Later Todd Co), KY in
1807.
1810 Christian Co, KY census
1 m<10 (Thomas? Ransom?)
2m 10-15 (Robert Eaton, Jr, John)
2m 16-25 (Henry, Allen)
1m 45+ Robert Eaton, Sr)
1f 16-25 (Judith or Winifred)
1F 45+ (Mary) no slaves
They lived near his married dau Sally and her husband, Stephen
Talkington
1818- pension application from Todd Co. [Robert Eaton was 64 at the
time, so couldn't have been the man who was an early settler in Polk
Co, MO]
1820 census
1m 16-18 (John)
2m 16-26 (Thomas, Robert Eaton)
1m 45+ (Robert Sr)
1f 0-10 (could have been a dau Frances about whom I know nothing, No
other candidate)
1f 45+ (Mary)
1 “foreigner, not naturalized”)
1830 Census- Todd County, KY (m: 1,15-20, 1,20-30 1,70-80 f: 1,
15-20 1, 70-80)
1840 Todd Co, KY Tax List:
No 4 Acock, Thomas ( have no idea with “No 4” means. Was he acting
for his father?
Same Agent for
Robert E. Adcock, 200 (number of acres), Logan, Mudy River (nearby
watercourse), 800 (worth of land)
1845 Todd Co, KY Tax List: (acerage, county, watercourse if any,
valur, WM >21)
Adcock, 40Todd CoWhippowill 40 1 no slaves
Acoxk, Robert 123 Todd Co
207 1 no slaves
Acock, Thomas -Todd Co- 1 no slaves
I have seen from online sources that Robert Eaton, Sr died on Mar 22,
1848, but have no absolute proof.
Records of Robert Eaton, Jr. pick up in 1830:
1830 in Todd Co, KY m: 1<5, 1 30-40, F: 1 <5, 15-10, 1 15-20
He first registered land in 1838 in Township 32, Range 22 (in what
later became Looney Township) one year after Polk Co, MO was opened
to settlement, and again in 1839 and 1840.
