John,
Yes, I do recall our correspondence and that you provided me with some
new information on early Bloodworths which I did not have. Before
signing on to the
Bloodworth Roots-L list I looked at the archives for 1999. There I found
your
W.T. Watson letter and copied it. Thank you very much, for I did not
have it. I
have references to his work, but not any of his research. Travis
Bloodworth in his
book, THE HOUSE OF BLOODWORTH, included more of Watson' work. I found
the material on Sir Thomas Bloodworth helpful in trying to prove that
there is no connection between my original Timothy Bloodworth and Sir
Thomas.
W. T. Watson was a descendant of Junius Bloodworth, who changed the
spelling of his name either before leaving New Hanover Co., NC or after.
Junius and my family, the descendants of James (Timothy>James) who came
to Natchitoches,
La. from New Hanover Co., seem to be the main Bloodworths who changed the
spelling. There may have been others, but I haven't found them.
Am still trying to prove that the first wife of Timothy Bloodworth was a
Jane Armistead. Have drawn a blank so far.
Thanks for your help.
Sarah
