If I may qoute another board member: "Excuse me? Check your bylaws."
I think we are making a mountain out of a molehill. The by-laws specify
what to be done and for us to "appoint" someone who was NOT elected by the
volunteers smacks of everything the old board was, unjustly, accused of.
In the specific instance you are putting an unelected person in a position,
the very nature of which implies
next in line of succession as NC.
The fact that the party in question is both a great guy and eminently
qualified has no bearing on the matter.
