Hi Fellow Board Members... The following seems like a
fairly good idea to me. What do the rest of you think?

Hi reps!

Below is a snippet from a post I sent yesterday to the CC
list. Since
I've gotten some private support for the idea and since
there has been
some ongoing discussion on how to get the USGW more
publicity, I thought
the board might be interested in the idea.

If the Board does decide to pursue the banner idea, might I
recommend that
Pam Reid design them? She's done a great job with the
webpage redesign;
I'm sure she'd make some very nice banners.

Actually, I have been told that on many pages, particularly
those that do
not default to commercial advertising, RW flies banners for
groups that it
hosts, such as Kindred Konnections, Notable Women and the
IBSSG. Maybe
USGenWeb should devise a banner for rotation in this series.
I think that
would be an excellent way to get some more publicity for the
Project. The
various Special Projects might also want to have banners to
rotate in this
series.
