You're both missing the point on this. The "required statement" on the
Projects pages states:
"all original records that are transcribed and submitted to any special
project whether it be "The USGenWeb Archives Project," "The USGenWeb
CensusProject," "The USGenWeb Tombstone Project,"or any other special
project, they are a part of The USGenWeb Project's "digital library" known as
"The USGenWeb Project Archives."...."
You will note that the Archives Project is listed as just another Special
Project and has no more authority than the Census or Tombstone Projects do.
It is simply one of many, and part of the collective whole.
The Bylaws make no provision for ANYONE to be head of the "Project Archives"
and listing the Archives Project with the label "Project Archives" is simply
not legal. What you are both agreeing to amounts to an illegal circumvention
of the Bylaws as they stand today. In order for it to become legal, the
Bylaws would have to be amended.
