The Motion clearly is for a study committee and specifically lists standing
committee as one of the subjects that needs study... should there be one?
what should its make-up be? its duties? and so forth all should be studied
and discussed and recommendatioins to the board and the project as a whole
be made.

Such a report would certainly be of considerable interest to the Election
Study Committee as would any information about the experiences of those
involved in any of the past elections but I fail to see how the report from
the committee for the election just past could alter or change the need to
study the entire process. Any additional issues addressed by the EC report
not already specifically listed in the motion as an item for the study
committee would fall under item (d.) "Any and all other election issues
brought up by the committee
members or brought to their attention by others".
There has been virtually no discussion of this motion as it is, why stall
further, either the Board is in favor of studying the problems and needs in
the election process with representation and input from across the project
or it is not. I can think of absolutely nothing that could be in the
present EC's report that would alter the NEED for the study committee in
any way although the report itself should be highly desirable input to the
study committee.

How long do you want to drag this issue out?
