Well, it now appears I am getting the "blame" for setting up this meeting. For
the record, Leslie Collier, this year's GenTech chair, told me at FGS that they
were going to make meeting rooms available for any USGenWeb Project groups that
wanted to use them. I indicated that TXGenWeb would be probably be interested
in using one. Trey confirmed that we would like to meet there. TXGenWeb has
talked about meeting there and that is the reason that Ken Short knew about it
beforehand also. I was as surprised by the mention of a nationwide meeting as
the rest of you.

>From there, it seems that my name was mentioned to the GenTech board as taking
on the coordination of this meeting. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
I do not have the time nor the inclination to take this on. I have made offers
to the GenTech folks to help where and when I can, but not with this.

So, no sinister plots are being plotted. No secret meetings are being held.
No evil plot for Betsy Mills to take over USGenWeb is in the works. RootsWeb
folks don't know any more about this meeting than any of you do -- maybe less.
And at this point, I'm not sure I want to even be there. Maybe if I can get
folks to promise there will not be lynch mobs, I'll consider it.
