I think this motion is a bit premature. The original letter said the price
is negotiable. I would suggest we start a pledge drive to see how much
support there is among the CCs for buying the domain. To that end, I am
willing to collect pledges (do not send money!!!) and will display them on
a web page:

www.us-genealogy.net/domain-pledges.html

Please send any pledges to me personally, not to a list, as I am only on
BOARD-L and STATE-COORD-L and may not see your pledges. Pledges can be made
anonymously or in memory of someone. Remember this is not a tax-deductible
pledge.

In the meantime, I would suggest every CC make sure their links to USGenWeb
are to usgenweb.org or usgenweb.net -- not to usgenweb.com
