There have been several discussing whether or not the newsletter(s) should
be part of the Publicity/Promotion Committee or not and all seeming to be a
wholly in or out position. My thoughts on this is that the P/P Committee
should be a general ongoing group which would include the editor(s) of any
newsletters*** but not exercising a direct supervision of any newsletter. I
think the P/P Committee's initial thrust should be to help get various
promotional efforts and resources started and then as an ongoing committee
act as a central resource and communications point between various efforts.
Some promotional items will be long term ongoing such as newsletters while
others will be one shot or annual efforts such as booth(s) at GenTech and
similar events or assisting CC's in designing and creating a brochure for
their county to be used at local events.

***newsletterS (plural) as two types are being discussed, one for the
volunteers (CC's, SC's etc of the Project) and one for the general public,
the researchers.

Rather than discussing various specifics the P/P Committee might do, can we
have some discussion as to what it's formation should be and it's general
goals?
