Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask your CC's how they feel about
another newsletter? Below is a sample of what I heard from mine. You
will notice not one seemed to want another list forced on them. Richard...
"This is the fastest way I know of to lose your coordinators......"
"Will we be allowed to opt out of receiving the newsletter? "
"Why not link it to the USGenWeb site and allow us to read it at our
discretion? The Project volunteers receive enough mail without adding
more to it."
"I have multiple websites in multiple states and on other topics besides
genealogy which already have me overwhelmed with mail lists I don't even
have time to read or monitor."
"Particularly when the "newsletter" seems to be like those from your
Congressperson, ie, how great I art."
"Just what are we doing wrong that we have to be monitored, and need
newsletters. "
"I hope the 'powers that be' haven't forgotten that this is a volunteer
project and everyone doing pages and providing info ARE volunteers and
... darn difficult to replace."
"I volunteered to help people with genealogy, not to help someone feel
important by encouraging their wanna-be politician desires."
"I am in agreement with those who feel that one more newsletter is one
too many. I think many of our volunteers are among the busiest
genealogists around, and we need to be able to choose how we use our
precious spare time. Better spent getting more info on our sites than
reading another newsletter."
"I agree we can all hit the delete key but we shouldn't have to."
