I move to authorize the National Coordinator, or her assigns, to conduct a
logo contest *selecting* an official logo for the Project. The National
Coordinator, or her assigns, are to establish the rules and guidelines for
the contest but must provide the rules that all entries become the
temporary property of The USGenWeb Project and can be used freely by same,
for the duration of the contest, and further that the winning entry will
become the permanent and exclusive property of The USGenweb Project, with
no monies or other prizes to be awarded to the winning designer, except a
design credit on the National Web site for the duration of the logo's use.

A poll of the membership shall be conducted in February or March (as the
EC and Larry Stephens may best perform it) to establish the wishes of the
membership as to one or multiple logos, to limit the number of choices,
with an election by the members to select the official Project logo or
logos, held in conjunction with the regular project elections of 2005.

The current logo shall be entered into the contest, but shall not be given
any preferential status.
