Subject: Grievance Committee List

After reading over the motion for the Grievance Procedure Committee (below) I realized that the GPC will only be active for a short period of time. After that the Grievance Procedure list will not be used. Grievances can't be handled on an open list. Since the GPC will be a short lived committee why does it need a new list? There is already one available that is open and archived. Even if Rootsweb assigns us a list for the GPC it will eventually be used for something else. Someone mentioned that the committee didn't want a list that had a strange name. The list that is open is USGW_WEB which is pretty generic.

Motion 05-13 ".... Further, that an email list be established for use of the committee, and that the list discussions be archived and permanently open to all project members. That during the discussion of grievance procedures, the list may be moderated during specific discussion by the committee members, but shall be open for posting by all subscribers at all other times.

"The committee will submit a complete set of proposed grievance procedures no later than sixty days after being seated, with an option to request additional time should it be needed. The AB will vote on whether to adopt the procedures in their entirety by a yes-or-no vote, with a simple majority required for passage."
