I have been considering the same thing. The only problem I see is if
the post gets responses. Then the deleting it and reposting becomes a
problem because all the comments will be lost if the orginal message is
deleted and reposted so it is near the top again.

I have been thinking about the "variations" for a location board. You
may not have this problem in Europe, but in the US many Counties where
further broken up over time so a family may stay on the same homestead
over several generations, but the county they live in changes as
subdivisions are made. This poses a problem for searchers, as the
records usually stay with the county where they were made. A notice at
the beginning of the board giving some of this information would be
useful.
