You can do that, or you can scroll to the bottom of the admin center main page and navigate to any board using the index pages. Of course, you will be on the admin version of boards you don't admin and so would then need to click on the Return To Message Boards link at the top of the page or manually remove the admin. part of the URL to access the user version of the board so that you could post a new message to that board.
