Hi to all Listers in SA

I'd be very interested to learn what units/regiments there were in East London
at the time of the outbreak of the Anglo Boer War 1899-1902. My interest
centres on my great uncle (an Australian) who arrived there from Paraguay just
ahead of the war. I'm led to believe that he fought in the Boer War but I know
nothing else. I do know that he returned after the war to East London and
married a woman who lived there so I am assuming that he enlisted in East
London.
