Intombi Camp was near Ladysmith, which was besieged by the Boers and
relieved, I think, in 1900. A search of http://www.google.com
using the term "Intombi Camp", in inverted commas, came up with 11 sites.
You might be able to find your wife's ancestor by doing a search of
http://www.nationalmonuments.co.za/search.htm
although their records are not 100% reliable
