This is my first posting to the List and I would appreciate any
help/guidance that you can give.

According to Family legend my ancestor Pte Pearce Cullen SANHAM (No 4870 -
20th Hussars) fought in the Boer War and I have a copy of a photograph of
him in Khaki uniform, taken circa 1900 by a photographer in
Pietermaritzburg, Natal, SA.

I have been unable to find his service records at the PRO, so am trying to
find out if there are any alternative records such as Medal Rolls, Muster
Rolls etc that might evidence his service in South Africa?

All ideas gratefully received
