Kathy, re R. W. Barnes, RAMC, Lieutenant-Colonel, retired pay.
He is in the Army List of July 1914 but not July 1915
(List Quarterly, but do not have those in between).
The Army Lists give quite a few details for officers:
BARNES, Raglan Wykeham; born 29 Sept 1854
1st commission 6 Mar 1880;
Lt-Col subst(antial) 8 Mar 1900;
rtd RAMC 17 Nov 1900.
>From War Service in 1910 list, pages 1989 & 2241:
Nile Expedition 1898: Battle of Khartoum. Desp. London Gazette
30 Sept 1898. Egyptian Medal with clasp. Medal.
S. African War 1899-1900: In charge of a general hospital. Operations in
Cape Colony and Orange River Colony 99-00. Queens Medal with two clasps.
NB: clasps to QSM presumably CC and OFS?

each rank.

288.
