Listeners,
I'm new to the list and trying to track down a Kennedy (or two). I only
have the following scant information.
Jessie Hart married a Sgt Kennedy of the 17th Lancers when they were
stationed in Mhow India in about 1880. They had one son. Sgt Kennedy was
said to be a champion tent pegger and was the third generation of the
Kennedy family in the 17th. They moved from India to Egypt where Sgt
Kennedy was eventually promoted to Major. The son also joined the army and
both father and son were killed in South Africa in the Boer war. Jessie
Kennedy moved to the UK and was killed in 1943 during the Blitz.
I have looked in all the usual places on the Web but cannot find any
information to support or reject the 'family history' above.
I would be gratful for any informtion or advice anyone can offer.
Regards
Paul Robinson
