I believe I put this query to the List some time ago, so please excuse the
repetition but I have a little more detail and and the membership has
increased.
I am trying to obtain info re the above man. He served in the Boer War but a
researcher could not find him at PRO. He was born in the Plymouth area in
1872 and married in 1901 at Marylebone. He joined the City of London Yeomanry
in December 1901 but did not serve in South Africa with them. Was still with
them in 1906. He saved my grandfather's life, presumably in S Africa when the
latter was serving with 6DG.
Does anyone have any info at all about this man, particularly as regards his
Service history? I am applying for his birth and marriage certificates so
will soon have his family background; also have 1881 census entry for him.
