Hello, I am trying to find out information on my grandfather who served in
the Boer War but I really do not know where to begin or who to write to.

Samuel Jacob Rosen, b circa 1886. Supposedly he served in the Boer War as a
Bicycle Messanger. There used to be one photo of him that my grandmother had
in his uniform and on his bicycle. No one in my family can find that photo,
I wish I had that photo, as it may give me a some information to go on.

I am going to assume that he served in the second war. He was in the United
States by 1906. I do not have any service information on him. Can anyone
give me any hints on how to procede? I have not had any luck finding my
family in England, not even in the 1901 census.
