Can somebody tell which force of the U.K. or British Military were involved under General Buller in south Africra. My Great Grand Father I have been told was a drummer in General Bullers body Guard during the boer war.I do not know what unit or group he was with and hope I can narrow things down so I can continue with my family search any help would be aprieciated.

Thomas Parkhouse was a drummer in gen. Bullers body Guard ( as told by his wife in an iterview with the Toronto telegram)
Mary Richards his wife was a ward of the Bullers's and travelled with them to South Africa ( Cape Town)

Please bear with me as I am new to this and my seem clumsy .
