My Grandfather was recalled as a reservist in December of 1899. He initially served with the first Battalion in Britain. In July of 1900 he was transferred to the 3rd Battalion an sailed for South Africa. I am keen to discover anything of the movements of the regiment in the next two years. Has anyone traced a copy of the official regimental history of the war? I cannot locate in the British Library catalogue. The Guards Museum has a copy but this means a visit to London. My local library has failed to trace it. Can anyone help?
