Subject: Nesbitt's Light Horse ?

Hi everyone,
Many years ago, my grandfather told me he served with Nesbitt's Light Horse
during the ABW. I have his discharge paper from the South African
Constabulary, dated 29 April 1903, from Potchefstroom, after 2 years 50 days
service. Attested on 9th March 1901 at Krugersdorp.
He was a carpenter from Warrenpoint Co.Down, Ireland, and I doubt he made
his way to S.A. before enlisting. Is it possible he joined the army in
Ireland (served for a while with Nesbitt's Light Horse) and later joined the
SAC.
I know he must have returned to Ireland after the war, as he was married in
Warrenpoint in 1908.
Does anyone know of this Light Horse unit?
Regards,
Brian.
