As a newbie to this list, I wonder if anyone could advise me of how to find out more info on my ancestor.

On the UK 1901 census it show on RG13/1429 folio 123 page 5 a Fanny LAW wife of soldier on active service.

I know it is a shot in the dark and I am assuming he was in the Boer War. His name was Arthur LAW age about 24. That is all I have on him.
