Subject: [BOER-WAR] Transcription of Regiment Name - William Percy Johnson
Date: Sun, 17 Dec 2006 12:19:47 +1100

A researcher has found some of the service records for my great-grandfather, William Percy Johnson, in the archives at Kew. He was a "Colonial Irregular", an Irishman living in Australia who seems to have gone to South Africa and joined up there. The researcher sent me digital photos of the records, however I am unable to read the handwritten name of one of the regiments my great-grandfather fought with. It looks like J________ R______ Police, but I can't find any regiment in my research that resembles this. He was 11 months with Kitcheners Horse, 10 months with the unknown regiment, and finished up with about 4 months with Brabants Horse before getting a medical discharge and returning to Australia. Is there anyone on the list who would be willing to receive an emailed copy of the page I cannot deciper?
