Dear Kevin,

Thank you for the e-mail received, I appreciate your kindness.
I have received the following from David Humphry, is the
Rimingtons/Damants.. WO 127 and Damant's Horse WO100/244 the same?

Karin - You couild try getting a researcher to check the Queen's South
Africa medal roll at the National Archives. Rimington's Guides are in
sub-section WO100/244 under Damant's Horse in which name they were re-titled
during the war.

I don't know if only the name Fred was used or the full name. Fred(e)rick
Ernest Smith my grandfather was the son of Alfred and Annie Smith. I am not
sure where he was born but I know according to his WW1 enrolment forms that
he was a "British subject"

Kevin, thank you once again for your kindness,

Looking forward hearing from you,

regards,

Karin.

Colin/Karin,

I do have the WO 127 for Rimingtons/Damants.. there are 2 F. Smiths shown,
but one is Frederick William and the other F.J...
