Re your Henry Richard/Richard HAM in the Boer Wear, the microfiche just say:
Ham, H - page 717 (ie page in actual register) - 3 Grenadier Guards.
The Index is handwritten, no other information. The death certificate if you
ordered it would probably just have the date (& a place perhaps) as well.
The researcher's lists which someone looked up has the date anyway!
There is also a Ham A (Royal Field Artillery) & Ham T S (9 Imperial
Yeomanry)
