Subject: 2 Joseph BOIVINs in Renfrew
Date: Wed, 3 Nov 2004 11:13:59 -0700

Hi Sandi...

The Parish Priest at Mount St-Patrick's in Renfrew told Reverend Father
Jean Jacques BOIVIN (Father Jim), 1917 - Feb 07 1998)
s/o James BOIVIN & Eleonore "Elinor" LAPLANTE-PLANTE
that there were 2 different Joseph BOIVIN families' living in Renfrew
Ontario at around the same time. Father Jim, as he was known to me,
went through the different Répertoires at Mount St-Patrick and was
able to separate the two families.... Who were close cousins according
the Priest's remarks in the columns of the original registrations. The
fact that they stood for each other as Witnesses at weddings and
baptisms is another indication of how close cousins they really were.

Father Jim's notes were left to his niece who gave them to me in 2002
when I went to a BOIVIN family reunion in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.
I've done my own research in an attempt to confirm his research.

Here are the two families according to Father Jim...
Along with the Sources that I've used to confirm them.
