My grandmother, Bessie Ann Follin, b. 1883 in Virginia, claimed that her
mother was Susan Bolton and that her father was Ferdinand Auterbach.

She always said that she was 'Black Dutch'. I'm not sure if that is
Native American, or exactly what as she wasn't specific. My family did
have black wavy hair, hazel or brown eyes and my one uncle and sky-blue
eyes. They all had an olive complexion.

I know they had ties in North Carolina, Virginia and later DC/Maryland
area.
