Sandie, I know how you feel. I went to Royton in summer of "96. I did find the church with
family names. Still don't have my grandfathers birth date just right. However, as I looked
in the phone book for William Booth there were three pages. Here are the names I know:

James Booth & Alice owned an Inn in late 1700s in Royton
Son William Booth b Jan 1798 d 1 Feb 1868 m. Sarah Graves. She died and he married
Mary Booth
They came to RI around 1852 or a little later.
Joseph Graves Booth came to Texas 1858 or 59. I think William's son William and
daughter Sarah stayed in Royton. I would love to find them as they would be able to tell a
lot about the family.
There are so many Booths in that area that it seems impossible.
