Joan Ferguson's Directory of Scottish Newspapers says that Melrose was
served by the "Kelso Courier and Border Counties Advertiser" from 1871-1880.
Other papers in the area c1876 were the "Kelso Mail" and the "Border
Advertiser" (Galashiels).
The Borders Regional Library at St Mary's Mill, Selkirk holds the "Border
Advertiser", but the Kelso Mail is in Edinburgh City Libraries at George IV
Bridge, Edinburgh and the Kelso Courier ...." at the British Library's
Newspaper Library at Colindale, London.
Best wishes,
