Who were Robert Elliott's parents? I am looking for info on my
4xgreatgrandfather Walter Elliot who married Isabel Grieve. Their first
Child Thomas (my 3x ggfather) was also born in 1776 in Roxburghshire.
Thomas' siblings are William, John, Margaret, Christian, and Archibald.
I can't seem to get back any further than Thomas' parents Walter &
Isabel. I was hoping that your Robert's father would be a brother of my
Walter Elliot.

They eventually settled in Loanhead, Midlothian. Isabella was born in Traquair, Peebleshire on Oct 24 1790, the daughter of Samuel Dickson, shepherd, and Lucy Stevens. Lucy and Samuel are both buried in Kirkurd churchyard. Lucy was born in Taniel Burn, Traquair in 1746, her father being Walter Stevens. Is anyone connected with this family? Does anyone know if there are any printed records concerning the Traquair estate that I might consult as I think perhaps Walter was employed by the Earls of Traquair?
